Quick start
This page takes you from nothing to your first voice-logged contact. It's about ten minutes, and your first 50 QSOs are free.
1. Install the app
VoiceQSO is available for Android on Google Play. Install it and open it.
2. Create your account and verify your email
Sign up from the app's welcome screen, then check your inbox: we send a verification link, and you can't get into the app until it's clicked. Once you've clicked it, return to the app and tap I've verified my email.
Verifying your email also puts 50 free QSOs on your account, enough to properly try voice logging before spending anything. See Plans & pricing for what happens after those.
3. Tell us who you are
A short onboarding asks for your details:
- Callsign (required): used to identify you in every QSO log.
- Name and QTH (optional): your name and location.
- Enable public status page (optional): a live web page of your activity that friends and chasers can watch. You can change this later; see Public status page.
4. Create your first session
Every contact lives in a session. Open the Sessions tab, tap +, give the session a name and pick a category, and tap Create Session. The full details are in Creating a session.
5. Record your first QSOs
With the session open, tap the round microphone button, set the phone down next to your radio, and operate like you normally would; no narrating, no dictation. Start contacts with "CQ", close them with "QRZ" or a fresh "CQ", and say callsigns clearly. Contacts appear in the list below as they're extracted.
Tap the button again to stop when you're done. Logging QSOs covers all of this in depth, including the processing modes and tips for the cleanest log.
6. Review and take your log anywhere
Tap any contact to check and edit it. When the session is done you can export it to ADIF or Cabrillo, or set up QRZ.com or Wavelog sync so future contacts flow to your logbook automatically.
