Wavelog sync

Run your own logbook? VoiceQSO can sync contacts to a self-hosted Wavelog instance automatically as you log them.

Experimental. Wavelog sync is a newer integration and still being refined, so expect the occasional rough edge.

Before you start

Because Wavelog is self-hosted, you'll need:

  • The URL of your Wavelog server, for example https://log.example.com.
  • A read/write API key, created under Wavelog › Account › API Keys.

Enable Wavelog sync

Setup runs in two short steps.

  1. Open the Settings tab and find the Wavelog Logbook section.
  2. Turn on the Wavelog Sync switch. The Connect Wavelog screen appears.
  3. Step 1, connection: enter your server URL and API key, then tap Continue. VoiceQSO checks the connection and reads back your station profiles.
  4. Step 2, default station: choose a Default Station Location to use for home sessions, or pick No default (auto-create only). Tap Enable Wavelog Sync.

Once enabled, the row shows Syncing to your server URL, and new contacts flow to Wavelog as you log them.

Prefer a keyboard? You can do all of this in the companion web app at app.voiceqso.com/settings, where pasting your server URL and API key is much easier than typing them on a phone.

If the server can't be reached, you'll see Wavelog Connection Failed. Check that the URL is correct and reachable from your phone and that the API key has read/write access, then try again.

About station locations

Wavelog records are filed under a station location:

  • Sessions with a POTA or SOTA reference get their own location, created automatically for that activation.
  • All other sessions use the default station you picked during setup. If you chose No default, a location is auto-created instead.

Options once it's on

With Wavelog sync enabled, two more settings appear:

  • Default Station Location: review the fallback station used for home sessions.
  • Update Connection: change your Wavelog URL, API key, or default station at any time.

To turn sync off again, switch Wavelog Sync back off.

Per-session control

From the session screen you can toggle Wavelog Auto-Sync on or off for that session alone. To push an entire session at once, open the session's menu and choose Sync with Wavelog. VoiceQSO reports how many QSOs were sent, how many were skipped for incomplete data, and any errors.
