VoiceQSO runs on a simple subscription. Each plan gives you a monthly allowance of QSOs, and any you don't use partly carry over to the next month. If you'd rather not subscribe, or you just need a top-up, you can also buy booster packs that never expire.

What uses a QSO?

A QSO is only spent when our automated extraction service turns your recorded audio into a log entry. That's the part that costs, so that's what your allowance covers.

• Voice-logged contacts use a QSO. Each contact the extraction service pulls out of your audio counts as one.
• Manually added contacts are free. Typing a contact in yourself (see Logging QSOs) doesn't touch your allowance at all.
• Audio storage is free. We don't currently charge to keep your recordings. They stay available until you close your account or ask us to delete your data.

Start for free

You don't need a subscription to try VoiceQSO. Every new account starts on the free tier:

• Verify your email and get 50 QSOs to try voice logging with, on us.
• Free accounts also get 50 QSOs a month, refreshed at the start of each month. Unused free QSOs don't carry over.
• When you want more, add a booster pack or pick a subscription below. Nothing about your sessions or logs changes when you upgrade.

Promo codes

Picked up a VoiceQSO card or sticker at an event? Promo codes add bonus QSOs to your account:

1. In the mobile app, open the Profile tab.
2. Tap Redeem promo code and enter the code (it looks like XXXX-XXXX).
3. Tap Redeem.

Promo QSOs work like booster QSOs: they never expire, and they're only spent once your subscription allowance runs out. Each giveaway can be redeemed once per account, and codes themselves can have an expiry date, so don't sit on them too long.

Subscriptions

There are two tiers, Standard and Premium, each available monthly or yearly. Paying yearly works out cheaper than twelve monthly payments and earns a more generous rollover.

• Standard gives you 550 QSOs a month, plenty for the regular operator.
• Premium gives you 2,000 QSOs a month, for high-volume operating like contests and frequent activations.

How rollover works

Whatever part of your monthly allowance you don't use is partly added to next month's QSOs:

• Monthly plans roll over 50% of what's left.
• Yearly plans roll over 75% of what's left.

So on a Standard yearly plan, if you use 350 of your 550 QSOs one month, 75% of the remaining 200 (that's 150) is added on top of your 550 the following month.

Booster packs

Booster packs are one-time purchases that top up your QSOs. Each is named for the number of QSOs it adds:

A few things make boosters handy:

• They never expire. Buy them whenever, use them whenever.
• They're spent last. Your monthly subscription QSOs are used first; boosters only start counting down once those run out.
• No subscription required. Boosters work on their own, so you can use VoiceQSO purely pay-as-you-go if you'd prefer not to subscribe.

Where to buy

Subscriptions and booster packs are bought in the mobile app, under Plan, because billing goes through the app store. The web app shows your plan and remaining QSOs, but purchases can't be made there.
