Your audio & privacy

VoiceQSO records your on-air audio and runs it through AI to build your log, so it's fair to ask exactly what happens to that audio. Here's the short version; the full legal documents are linked at the bottom.

How your audio is processed

  • Your audio is sent to a third-party AI provider for transcription; that's how the extraction works. The provider processes it on our behalf and does not retain it or train on it.
  • We never train AI models on your data. Not your audio, not your transcriptions, not your logbook; not our own models, and not anyone else's.
  • Processing is automated. Humans only listen in two cases: small samples for quality control, and when you ask support to look at a specific problem.

Where your data lives

Your account, logbook, and recordings are hosted on servers in the EU (Germany). Your data doesn't leave the EEA as part of normal operation. Audio sent to the AI provider is processed and returned, not retained there.

One more detail worth knowing: the GPS position used by Find nearby park/summit never leaves your phone. The park and summit database is matched on the device, so your location is not sent to our servers or anyone else.

How long we keep things

  • Recordings stay in your account for as long as it's active, so you can re-download them any time. We don't charge for this.
  • QSOs and sessions stay until you delete them; you can edit or delete any contact or session yourself in the app.
  • Want specific recordings gone sooner? Email privacy@voiceqso.com and we'll delete them.
  • If you close your account, your audio and associated data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Export your logs first; that part is on you.

Your side of the deal

You own the audio you record, and you're responsible for having the right to record and process it, and for following the radio regulations that apply where you operate.
